Annual Congregational Meeting and Voting to Extend Letter of Call

Dear Friends,

The 2023 Annual Congregational Meeting of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church will be held on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11 during all worship services. This is an important meeting for Prince of Peace. Members will be called upon to vote on three issues that will impact the future of the church:

• Approving the 2023/24 Budget
• Approving candidates for the Board of Directors
• To extend a Letter of Call to the final Lead Pastor candidate

After months of hard work and prayerful discernment, the Call Committee has recommended a final candidate to the Prince of Peace Board of Directors. The Board of Directors has affirmed this candidate and is now recommending the congregation approve extending a Letter of Call to the candidate.

The Synod recommends the name of the final candidate remain confidential for now. This is out of respect for the candidate and their relationship with their current call. An email introducing the candidate to the congregation will be sent in early June. There will be a Meet and Greet with the final candidate Wednesday, June 7 at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary.

The Annual Congregational Meeting will be held during every on-campus worship service. There will be no online voting option. The vote to call a pastor needs to be by written ballot.  A two-thirds majority of those present and voting is necessary for a call to be issued.  A quorum of 250 members is required. Your presence and vote matter!

Congregational Forum
Sunday, June 4 | 10:00 am |Chapel
Director of Finance Kienan Mick will discuss the 2023/24 budget and answer questions. The slate of candidates for the Board of Directors will be introduced.

Lead Pastor Final Candidate Meet and Greet
Wednesday, June 7 | 6:30 pm | Sanctuary
The Call Committee and Board of Directors will present the recommended candidate for Lead Pastor and the candidate will address the congregation.

Prince of Peace Annual Congregational Meeting
Saturday, June 10 & Sunday, June 11 | At All On-Campus Worship Services
Members vote on approving the 2023/24 Budget, affirming candidates for the Board of Directors and to extend a Letter of Call to the final candidate for Lead Pastor.
