  • Called to connect with one another in relationships with other disciples who nurture, support and challenge us.
  • Called to connect with the South Metro area to bring hope and wholeness to others, with specific focus on children, seniors and people in poverty.
  • Called to connect with partners working together with schools, churches, the “spiritual but not religious”, local government, campus partners, other organizations and the business community to be the heart, hands and feet of Christ in the world.
  • A HUB OF HOPE AND WHOLENESS IN THE SOUTH METRO AREA

Life Events | Baptism, Marriage, Funerals

Faith is not just about spending one hour in worship or saying a prayer at dinner or giving money to a homeless person. All those things are great but God is calling us to something more. God is calling us to invest our whole lives: from our first breath to our last…in loving God and loving other people.

Baptism
Through the sacrament of baptism we are made new, forgiven, adopted into God’s family, and loved for life and beyond. Parents who would like their child baptized should attend our Baptism Preparation Class. Adults who desire to be baptized may meet with a member of our pastoral staff. Visit popmn.org/baptism.

Keeping The Promise
Prince of Peace has dedicated one day each year in the life of your child to celebrate baptism. Keeping the Promise (KTP) events, including First Communion and Confirmation, are designed to remind us of the important promises you made during your child’s baptism. Visit popmn.org/ktp.

Marriage
All people, regardless of sexual orientation, are invited to participate fully in the life of this faith community—including marriage. Christian marriage begins with a wedding ceremony where Christ is at the center. We’ll help you to plan a ceremony that is consistent with the Christian understanding of marriage. The Pastoral Staff at Prince of Peace expects all couples to participate in some marriage preparation as they anticipate a wedding to begin your married relationship with as many tools as you can gather for a lifetime of growth together. This is one of the most important investments you can make as you prepare for a wedding and a marriage. Prince of Peace uses the SYMBIS Assessment tool as a part of our marriage preparation. Visit popmn.org/marriage.

Funerals
The Prince of Peace community will help you plan and implement a Christian funeral or memorial service to honor the memory of your loved one and celebrate the hope of the resurrection. We’ll walk with you in this journey of grief. Call the church office at 952-435-8102 to schedule a funeral. On-call ministers are available around the clock. Visit popmn.org/funerals.

IN through Community | Children, Students, Adults

Family Ministry

We believe that families are the primary source of faith formation and we strive to partner with families and the wider church community to move our kids UP, IN, and OUT. Family Ministry meets September through April. Visit popmn.org/family.

Children’s Ministry
Children’s Ministry meets September – April to journey with young families as they seek to grow together in faith. Through weekly worship and small group time, children’s choir, annual Keeping the Promise family experiences, and ongoing opportunities to serve together, families have the opportunity to build community with others while deepening their relationships with God and with one another.Visit popmn.org/children.

Student Ministry
Student Ministry meets September – April to support students in grades 6-12 as they grow into their faith and begin to develop a lifelong relationship with God. Weekly StuMin Worship provides students with opportunities to both participate in and lead worship. Small groups build nurturing and supportive relationships with peers and adult leaders. Service opportunities and special events allow students to express and grow their faith in a variety of ways. Visit popmn.org/student.

MOPS & Moms Next
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is an opportunity for moms with infants, toddlers and preschoolers to surround yourself with other moms for a supportive community, service projects, fun crafts and DIYs, and inspiring guest speakers. Mission Trips
Mission trips are an important part in many disciples’ lives. God does some amazing things when you are away from distractions of cell phones and emails. In a group experience like this, there are opportunities to pray together, serve together, play together and spend quiet time with God. National and international mission trips offered. Visit popmn.org/missiontrips.

POP For Justice
Have you wanted to be more active in the important issue of racial equity and justice, but don’t know how or where to begin? The Prince of Peace Board of Directors has a place to start. We believe God is calling us to listen, to understand and to act. We want to be bridge builders to racial reconciliation in our church, our neighborhoods and our world. We pray for God’s healing love to open our hearts to empathy as we learn how to do the work of racial reconciliation. We invite you to join us in prayer and in action as we answer God’s call to love one another and become bridge builders on the journey to reconciliation. Visit popmn.org/justice.

Feed My Starving Children
Join us in this community-wide event to feed starving children across the globe. The Feed My Starving Children South Metro Meal Pack is a collaborative event with several churches and organizations in the community to pack millions of meals. This annual event takes place in January/February.
