Student Ministry meets September – April to support students in grades 6-12 as they grow into their faith and begin to develop a lifelong relationship with God. Weekly StuMin Worship provides students with opportunities to both participate in and lead worship. Small groups build nurturing and supportive relationships with peers and adult leaders. Service opportunities and special events allow students to express and grow their faith in a variety of ways.

StuMin

StuMin

Wednesdays 7:00 – 8:30 pm
StuMin is a weekly worship/small group experience for students in grades 6-12. StuMin explores the three relationships mentioned in the greatest commandment: God, self, and others. We want students to experience a love for God that inspires personal faith, a love for themselves rooted in their identity as beloved children of God, and a love for others that develops strong interpersonal connections and motivates a desire to serve.

StuMin Worship

Keeping The Promise Family Experiences

Prince of Peace has dedicated one day each year in the life of your child to remember the promises made during baptism. Keeping the Promise Family Experiences (KTP) are designed to teach children about Christian life and equip families to deepen their faith at home.

6th Grade | Holy Scriptures

In response to the promise of placing the Holy Scriptures in your child’s hands, StuMin provides a 3-week course in October for 6th grade small groups about the Bible. This three-week session, offered during StuMin, will deepen students’ understanding of the Bible by exploring three foundational questions: “What is the Bible?” “How do Lutherans approach the Bible?” and “Why is the Bible useful?” Sixth graders will receive a Student Bible and learn about other helpful resources for seeking out scripture.

While this experience is led by Family Ministry staff and small group leaders, we hope families will take the opportunity to talk with their student about what they are learning. StuMin provides weekly devotional materials for families, and we encourage families to explore scripture together all throughout the StuMin years using this resource.

9th-12th Grade | Confirmation

Confirmation is a 10-week course offered to students in grades 9-12. In Confirmation, students commit to taking the lead in their own life of discipleship. We help students prepare for this commitment by exploring who God is, who we are, the story we’re a part of, and the life we’ve been called to as followers of Jesus.

Sessions are offered on Sunday mornings. Each session culminates with a worship celebration when the students publicly affirm their faith.

*Our next Confirmation course will take place in winter or spring. Once a start date has been determined, an announcement will be made to the congregation.
