September through April | Wednesdays unless otherwise noted
Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to find a place in our StuMin Band. Rehearsal will take place in the Sanctuary in the Worship Center. Due to a high number of students, we use a rotation system to ensure that all students can contribute.
All students are encouraged to participate in age-level small groups. There are two sessions, “early” and “late,” meeting in various spaces in the Christian Life Center. Small group content is written differently for high school and middle school groups.
Freestyle is available for all students and meets in the Media Room of the Christian Life Center. There are snacks, games, and spaces for students to connect. This is also a great volunteer opportunity for parents.
Students are invited to join us for amazing music, large group games, sacraments, and a relevant message in the Family Room of the Christian Life Center. This is not a passive experience! There are many ways to be involved as ushers, greeters, communion servers, game and announcement hosts, guest speakers, singers, dancers, and much more.
This year’s theme is “A People Called Parent.” Parents will explore the different ways children call us into being a parent. A variety of people will cover a range of challenges and issues that parents face.
Parenting Tools meets in the chapel.
Sunday StuMin is a ministry for middle school students run by high school students that meets on select Sundays throughout the year at 11:00 am in Room 200 of the Christian Life Center. Middle schools students can expect games, music, and short devotional. High school students will learn leadership skills as they plan and lead this important ministry. No registration is required. Contact Jason Kramme for more information.
In Affirmation of Baptism students commit to taking the lead in their own life of discipleship. We approach each of the participants as if they are characters in a subplot of God’s great story.
Then, applying the principles of what makes a truly great story, help them clarify and bring meaning to the life they commit to during Affirmation of Baptism. Along the way we’ll learn about who God is, who we are, the story we’re a part of, and the life we’ve been called to.
Two 10-week sessions are offered on Sunday mornings each year (one in the fall and one in the spring). Each session culminates in a celebration with the entire Prince of Peace community during weekend worship.
At this point of the year the most important step towards creating a successful group experience is to come together relationally. As a leader, you’re still earning the right to be heard by the group. As kids, they are still deciding if the group is a safe place to speak. So, before you get too focused on outcomes and content, press into the relationships in the group. Follow-up on prayer requests, reach out to parents to talk about the first week, do something intentional with your group that shows them you’re listening.
As always, if there are issues with any part of StuMin, reach out to me and I will do my best to help you be successful.
