Food, Clothing, Hygiene and Household Items
Appointments are required. To schedule an appointment call 952-898-9311. Leave a voicemail message and a volunteer will call back in the order calls are received.
Our grocery store-style environment allows you to choose approximately 3 days of food that best meet your family’s preferences. Mission Outpost guests are invited to shop one time per month. All guests must register at their first visit and renew annually. All addresses welcome.
Partnerships between Mission Outpost and local grocery stores provide fresh, unused grocery store food to use in our food shelf. Each day, food is picked up from grocery stores, sorted by our volunteers, and picked out by shoppers to take home. Considering this, we never know what we will have that day. To ensure that everyone has a chance to shop for various food, we limit how much you can choose of each item.
Because some of the food Mission Outpost uses cannot be sold by grocery stores, the expiration, best by, or use by date might be closer than you are typically used to seeing. But the good news is that these dates don’t necessarily mean that the food is bad. These date labels are guidelines for how long food is good for after the package date. Please use your best judgement, if food tastes, smells, or looks off, don’t eat it.
Our free clothing closet and household items are not open to the public, rather they are only accessible during a food shelf appointment. The variety of selections are based solely on the donations received from the community.
Community Resource Center
Volunteers will help to navigate community and county resources, assisting guests with needs beyond food and clothing. View our Community Resource Center brochure below for commonly suggested services and programs.
No appointment is necessary to meet with the Resource Center; walk in anytime during regular Mission Outpost hours.
