Volunteer

Make a difference in someone’s life by serving in Mission Outpost. Several safety precautions are in place to create a safe space for our guests, volunteers and staff. Volunteers must attend an orientation session before they can serve. During this orientation we will share safety protocols and describe the different areas where you can serve. Our volunteer trainings will take place on Zoom. Please register here for volunteer orientations on February 25 & March 16.

Volunteers who have completed orientation must also sign up for a shift in advance. No walk-in volunteers will be accepted, due to COVID-19 precautions. If you are interested in serving with Mission Outpost, please email us at outpost@popmn.org.

Our MOVE team has been very busy over the past year with the rolling out a new process called “Navigator” in which we walk along side a family helping them get from where they are to where they want to be. This is a long term project and could take a family up to 18 months to reach their goal.  The project includes using personal contacts, congregational and community supports as well as County resources. This, along with the other programs MOVE provides, is creating a well rounded, wholistic approach to assisting our guests to reach THEIR goals. Some of our next steps include mental health with an ongoing 4-6 week course on various mental health issues that families face in day to day life, especially in this time of COVID. We also offer information on health issues such as diabetes and heart disease. If you believe any of these programs fit your calling and would be willing to be a part of our team, volunteering once a week for 2-3 hours, we would love to connect with you and see if we would be a good fit for your volunteer time. Please contact Linda Olson at email or 952-898-9307.
