April 23: Planning Considerations for Your Estate & Important Legal Issues 

Rachel Schromen, elder law attorney and owner of Schromen Law, LLC, will be joining us to discuss important life planning considerations. She will offer an overview of estate planning, including what basic documents and considerations can help to make things easier and more cost-effective for your loved ones. She will also discuss important planning considerations regarding navigating and protecting your estate from long-term care costs. With background as a volunteer end-of-life doula in hospice, Ms. Schromen offers this legal information while taking into consideration the important emotional and personal considerations that also come into play.
April 30: Downsizing, Decluttering, Moving, & Estate Sales 

Making the decision to move, or even starting to downsize, can be daunting. Learn strategies and tips to take those first steps. We’ll also cover whether an estate sale may be a good fit for your situation. Bring your questions! This presentation will be taught by local Caring Transitions experts, Suzanne and Cindy.

May 7: The Ins and Outs of Medicare 

Rolf White, owner and lead collaborator of Business and Family Advisors LLC, will discuss what Medicare is, its history, the differences of Medicare vs Medicaid, eligibility, the different parts, how doctors and hospitals work with Medicare, what a Medicare supplement and Part D plan are, how it works if you retire early, and many rules associated with choosing a Medicare plan. Rolf’s focuses are in financial planning, retirement, social security, tax planning and 401(k) plans. He is licensed in MN and WI.
