Weekend Worship ON-CAMPUS | SATURDAY 5:30 pm ON-CAMPUS | SUNDAY 8:45 & 10:30 AM ONLINE | 8:45 & 10:30 AM
Dear Prince of Peace Family and Friends,
God is Here With Us!
This is the clear message of Advent: God is not “out there… somewhere…over the rainbow,” disconnected from people. God is now here. God is with us.
God is with us in the same way God was with the shepherd boy named David, who took a stand against a giant with five smooth stones.
God is with us in the same way that God was with Martha, who will forever be remembered as a worrier. God was with Mary, who many thought was too lazy.
God is with us in the same way that God was with the guy named Thomas, who is comfortable enough in his own skin to be honest with Jesus about his doubts.
God was with Elijah, who just got too burnt out.
And God is with us in the same way that God was with a young teen, Mary, who would carry the Savior in her womb.
God was with them all. God is now here—God is with us too. It’s the clear message of hope and promise. It is the celebration of God with us. Immanuel! Let’s celebrate together that God is with us right in the middle of where we are, in the middle of who we are, trusting that we are loved through it all!
Merry Christmas,
Pastor Paul Dean
We warmly welcome you to come together for the Christmas season to worship and celebrate the birth of God’s gift to us all, Emmanuel, Christ with us — the ultimate gift of love that God hopes we will experience throughout this season.

Everyone is invited to worship and thank God for our loved ones who have passed away and support one another as a community of faith. Coming together as a church to honor one another and our collective loss allows for God’s continued comfort and healing.
This year, we will also be acknowledging experiences that people may be grieving such as losing a home, a relationship or even a pet. We recognize that these experiences are tremendous losses that require comfort and healing as well.
If you are unable to attend this service in person, you can stream the service through our Worship Services page, the POP YouTube channel or the POP Facebook page.
Saturday, December 2 | 5:30 pm Sunday, December 3 | 10:30 am
Our children’s Praise Choir will lead us in worship at the 5:30 pm (Saturday) and 10:30 am (Sunday) services to explore a heartwarming Advent story through joyful music and drama. In this year’s Praise Choir Advent Worship, a chorus of angels (ages 6-11) will celebrate the joy we find in connecting with others during the holiday season, and the ways we might find ourselves unexpectedly called to shine a little light into each other’s lives. Like Mary preparing to welcome Jesus into the world, we may sometimes feel that the burdens and joys we are carrying this holiday season are so personal that no one could possibly understand. Then, when we least expect it, God brings someone into our lives that shows us we are seen, understood and loved, just like Elizabeth wrapping Mary in a warm hug.
The annual Savor the Season luncheon is on Tuesday, December 5 and will feature a Scandinavian luncheon, Christmas carols and fellowship! Savor the Season is a community life event hosted by Life Savors, a ministry group passionate about embracing aging and creating opportunities for seniors to connect with and support one another. Greet old friends and make new ones. Registration is closed for this year’s event but if you would like to get involved in Life Savors, please contact Kari Snyder at [email protected].
Friday, December 8 | 6:00 pm Join the Family Ministry team for an evening of caroling, activities and a movie to help young families prepare their hearts for the celebration of the birth of Jesus and the true meaning of Christmas. Families will have the option to stay for an additional full-length Christmas movie and popcorn. Register at POPmn.org/register.
Saturday, December 16 | 5:30 pm Sunday, December 17 | 9:00 & 10:30 am
Join the 100-voice Celebration Christmas Choir and orchestra in a powerful experience of worship. Through uplifting music, poetry, narration, special effects, video, and a message from Pastor Paul Dean, we will move from weariness to amazement. You will also be invited to join your voice in song as together we celebrate the wonder of the Christ-child.
This is a great opportunity for us to extend invitations to family and friends. Come and join us for We Are Amazed – the good news of Advent and an amazing time of worship!
