This Week at a Glance

Theme: Perform
This week is the third night in our faith and work series “Perform.” We will hear about the ways that we can integrate our faith in our lives as students in middle school and high school. Every day of school provides students with an ever evolving social world where they have the opportunity to be a light. Our panel will give their advice for how they have leaned on their faith to deal with the common challenges. We will follow the regular schedule tonight. You can find that schedule on the main Family Ministry Page.

Things to Know This Week:

  • Sunday StuMin

Session 5 Sunday, February 25 at 11:00 am | Does your middle school student have a hard time attending on Wednesday nights? Do they want a community to connect to on Sundays? Join us for games, music, and a devo in Room 200 for Sunday StuMin. If you lead middle school students who are unable to attend on Wednesdays, be sure to encourage them to check this out

  • March Mystery Madness

On Friday, March 2 from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am middle school students from Prince of Peace will join students from other area churches for our annual March Mystery Madness retreat! This year we will begin our night at Shepherd of the Valley at 7:00 pm with worship led by our very own StuMin Band, huge group games, and time to connect with friends from other churches. Then from 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm we’ll take buses to Bowlero in Lakeville to play arcade games, laser tag, and bowling. The cost for the evening is just $35.00 and covers two games of laser tag, two hours of bowling, $5 of arcade tokens, and the bus. If students want to buy concessions at Bowlero, they will need extra money. Register here.

  • Wapo for Middle School Through High School

This summer all of the kids involved in Family Ministry will head to camp Wapo on the same week! Middle School students will enjoy a great week on main site. Our high school students will spend the week at Ox Lake where they will be challenged as leaders in our StuMin community through high ropes courses and leadership training, enjoy the beauty of the St. Croix river valley by hiking, canoeing, and horseback riding, and grow deeper with God through campfire worship and devotional time. The cost is $430/student. Registration information can be found on the registration page.

Text Giving Is Here!

You can now make a contribution to Prince of Peace with a quick text message!

Text giving is a quick and easy way to give an offering for those of us who don’t carry cash or checkbooks – and you can include the kiddos, too! It’s also a great way for students to begin practicing personal stewardship.

You can find more information including step-by-step directions here.

If you have questions about your registration, contact Dawn Ridgway.

Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation)

In Affirmation of Baptism (offered in the fall and spring), students commit to taking the lead in their own life of discipleship. We approach each of the participants as if they are characters in a subplot of God’s great story.

Then, applying the principles of what makes a truly great story, help them clarify and bring meaning to the life they commit to during Affirmation of Baptism. Along the way we’ll learn about who God is, who we are, the story we’re a part of, and the life we’ve been called to.

Two sessions are offered, one in the spring and one in the fall. Each session consists of 10 classes on Sunday mornings. Each session culminates in a celebration with the entire Prince of Peace community during weekend worship.
