Volunteer Opportunities
at Prince of Peace

We have many opportunities for you to become more engaged at POP, and we encourage you to take the next step to learn more about a position that interests you.

 

Worship

Read Scripture: Share God’s Word with the congregation by reading selected Bible passages during the service.

Lead a Prayer: Lead our church in heartfelt prayers, guiding us in our spiritual journey and lifting our hearts in worship.

Be a Welcome Host: Greet and welcome our church family and visitors from the stage, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone.

Worship Musicians: Be a part of the musician teams for our Saturday 5:30 pm service and / or 8:45 am service.

Weekend Hospitality

Serve Communion: Serve communion to the congregation.

Be a Greeter: Welcome guests with a friendly smile and a warm greeting as they arrive. Answer questions and provide information about our church and services.

Be an Usher: Assist attendees in finding seats as well as distribute service materials and provide directions and assistance throughout the service.

Coffee Hosts: Host coffee and fellowship in the Community Room before and after Sunday worship.

Connect Desk: Be a welcoming presence for visitors and those that have basic questions about POP and our connect opportunities.

Medical Response Team: Be available to assist with any medical emergency in the time until first responders arrive.

Tech Support

Tech Support (Video/Screens): Run slides and lyrics on ProPresenter for our services, enhancing the worship experience.

Set-up Team: Help our tech team set up the stage for worship. We will especially need help changing over the stage between the 8:45 am and 10:30 am services on Sundays.

Care Ministry

Prayer Partner: We are looking for your help by being part of our prayer team after worship! Beginning this fall, we are hoping to have care ministers and prayer team volunteers available to pray with people right after a service. We will provide a brief training, so you feel equipped.

Social Media

Online Host: Help moderate the POP Facebook page during Sunday online worship services (8:45 am and/or 10:30 am).

Family Ministry

POP Kids Small Group Leader: Lead a grade-based small group (K – Grade 5) in activities and discussion supporting the weekly Bible story or verse. (Sundays 10:30 – 11:30 am)

POP Kids 1:1 Companion: Support a specific child in ways that help the child engage to the best of their ability and allows for a safe and appropriate opportunity to separate from the small group from time to time. (Sundays 10:30 – 11:30 am)

POP Pizzeria Host: Sell/serve slices of Davanni’s pizza to students, families and leaders on-site for evening ministry programs. Refill lemonade dispenser, if needed. Minimal clean up at the end of the evening includes wiping tables and running the dishwasher. (Wednesdays 5:00 – 7:30 pm)

Student Ministry (StuMin) Small Group Leader: Lead a grade-based small group in activities and conversation supporting the weekly message. Currently, we need leaders for Grade 6 girls and boys. (Wednesdays 6:45 – 8:30 pm)
