Family Ministry Summer 2021

Connect with Family Ministry | Family Ministry at Prince of Peace is excited to connect with families and students this summer. The activities may look a little different this year, but the relationships built will be stronger than ever!

Summer StuMin
(Grade 6–12)
Student Ministry will be connecting with small groups over the summer. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated on events such as movie nights, Waffle Wednesdays at the Buzz, and weekly devotionals from staff, leaders, and students.

Camp Wapo Meet & Greet
June 30 | 6:00 – 7:00 pm
Why wait until camp to make new friends? This evening will provide an opportunity for students who are registered for Camp Wapo to get to know one another prior to attending Youth Week (July 11-16) or Seeds Camp (July 18-20). Our reserved spots at Camp Wapo were limited this year and filled up very quickly. Campers will receive an email invitation with details.

Parents’ Morning Out
July 14, 21; August 4, 11, 18 | 9:00 am – noon
Our professional child care staff is available to care for children 6 months – Grade 5 while you attend an appointment, run errands or relax. Registration ($15 per child; $25 family max) is required and will be limited for safety protocols. Register below.

Worship Arts Workshop
July 26-29 | 9:00 am – 4:00 pm | Entering Grade 2-5
Creating online worship services this past year gave many students the opportunity to play a larger role within worship leadership. The Worship Arts Workshop planned for this summer will focus on developing those skills and putting them into practice by creating content that will be incorporated into Children’s Ministry fall programming. All participants will experience Music & Movement and Drama & Related Roles, and will be able to choose one specialty area: Creative Writing, Ukulele or Visual Arts. Space is limited to 50 students. At this time we have several volunteers in place. As the camper registrations increase, we anticipate that Volunteer Registration will re-open – email Dawn for details.

Vacation Bible School
Postponed to 2022
A number of factors contributed to the difficult decision to postpone Vacation Bible School, including the current building renovation, a transition in Children’s Ministry leadership, and the many logistical challenges involved in aligning with current health protocols. This fun-filled and faith-forming experience will return in Summer 2022!
