Something to Smile About: Dental Clinic Update By Prince of Peace Posted November 13, 2013 In News, Out Something to Smile About: Dental Clinic Update2013-11-132013-11-13https://popmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/pop-logo_horizontal_color-e1473696608865.pngPrince of Peace Lutheran Churchhttps://popmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/pop-logo_horizontal_color-e1473696608865.png200px200px 0 This past week, Prince of Peace received the final seed money needed to begin our construction of the two offices in the Mission Outpost that will be converted to dental office in early 2014. We are finalizing our plans for staffing and materials and will share details as soon as they are available. Donations from outside organizations and individuals passionate about dental care have helped us reach this milestone. We never would have gotten this far, however, without the leadership of our dental team. The dental team includes 25 dental professionals, any of whom have also contributed materials for these first offices and who will also be contributing their time once we’re open. Initially the offices will be open one day a week during non-Mission Outpost hours. Then we will expand to two evenings/days after several months. the clinic with focus on emergency dental services for all ages. A minimal fee of $20 per visit will be charged to most participants. There will be one part-time paid dental hygienist/assistant who will also serve as Clinic Director, reporting to Eric Elton, Mission Outreach Director. All other work will be done by volunteers. The need for low cost dental services South of the River is great. We are grateful to God for the opportunity to respond in this way to a very important need.
