November Update: One Church Transformation

Great progress is being made on our One Church Transformation construction, in spite of the significant rainfall in September and October. The basement walls are in and excavation is complete for our Chapel. New steel was set for the remodeling of the former child care area and Community Room to support the reconfiguration and expansion of that space.

November construction included setting steel and precast for the new addition. The remodeled construction area included a new roof, sprinkler installation, new windows and the start of interior framing of the office area during November. We also placed the stones that bear our names into the foundation of the new Chapel and held a short dedication ceremony. A short video of the ceremony can be viewed on our facebook page. (You do not need to have a Facebook account to view our content) The anticipated final completion is Labor Day 2019. You won’t want to miss the adventure!

Congregational Vote

The Christian Life Center building sits on 11+ acres of land that may be split, sold, leased or developed in a number of ways. The Board of Directors is exploring highest value and best use of the Christian Life Center parcels and will be engaging third party professionals to help us assess opportunities for this property. The congregation was asked to authorize the Board of Directors to market the property and negotiate the lease or sale. While the final disposition of the property is not imminent, the process needs to begin now. Congregational voting was held during WOW worship on Wednesday, November 14 and all weekend worship services on November 17-18.

On the Ballot:

The Christian Life Center parcels (Parcel ID 02-64011-01-020 and Parcel ID 02-64011-01-030) include the Christian Life Center building and the parking lots to the east and west of the CLC building for a total of 11.12 acres of land. Please vote YES or NO on the following motion, if you are a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (age 18 and older):

To authorize the Board of Directors to market the Christian Life Center parcels and negotiate the lease or sale of the property.

Results of the vote will be affirmed at the December Board meeting on Tuesday, December 4 and made public shortly after.
