Mission Trips – Judea & Samaria By Posted August 8, 2013 In 50th Anniversary Mission Trips – Judea & Samaria2013-08-082013-08-08https://popmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/popmn-logo-love-god.pngPrince of Peace Lutheran Churchhttps://popmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/popmn-logo-love-god.png200px200px 0 “… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” – Acts 1:8 Mission Outpost serves those in need in our community in “Jerusalem” – part of our local presence in God’s world. We also have a long history of serving at Dakota Woodlands Shelter, Habitat for Humanity, The Gift Tree, and Sharing & Caring Hands. All of these ministries impact people in our area. Judea and Samaria would be the equivalent of the national part of God’s kingdom. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast of the United States. In 2006, 2007, 2008, the people of Prince of Peace headed south to be part of the rebuilding of the coast. In 2009, we followed the devastation from Hurricane Ike in Texas, and since the summer of 2011, we have made three trips to Minot, ND after floods destroyed nearly 4,000 homes. Over the last 20 years, the youth of Prince of Peace have been serving within the boundaries of the United States and Canada – Denver, Appalachia, Rapid City, Indianapolis and Thunder Bay, Canada are just a few of the destinations of our students. Each of these experiences, have had an impact on the communities that we have served. Homes have been repaired, lives of people in each destination have been touched. But it is the lives of our people that have been touched very deeply by God that stands out as the most important outcome of these experiences. Each person has had the opportunity to be the Hands, Heart and Feet of Jesus in these places and have had the opportunity to return home and look at their lives just a little bit differently. We look forward to the opportunities of the future, where we can travel long distances to serve in “Judea and Samaria.” Prince of Peace Recent PostsPrince of Peace Welcomes Pastor Sarah FikeSpecial Congregational Meeting (8/24 & 8/25): Letter of Call for Associate Pastor of Spiritual FormationPrince of Peace Welcomes Adam Giebner as Choir DirectorTanzania Mission Trip: Friday (7/19) Update
