The CDLC Preschool and Family Ministry area will be complete by the end of July. The rooms are already painted, flooring is in, and tile work is in progress. It is critical to complete this area prior to mid-August for the State of Minnesota to relicense our preschool. In the renovated space, offices are being painted and bathrooms are roughed in. The elevator installation is scheduled for July, along with completion of the main staircase and the lightbox feature. Stucco work is underway and should be complete by mid-July. The stonework outside the main entrance is in process and will further enhance our front facade. Interior stone around the two-story fireplace will begin as soon as the exterior stonework is complete. Construction is on track to be completed in late summer so that staff can move into the new space the last week of August. The Chapel work for Phase 1 is complete. Through the generosity of this congregation and a significant grant from our Foundation, we were able to construct the shell of the Chapel space as a part of this first phase of construction. Significant savings were realized by including this space. HVAC equipment has been installed, but vent work and electrical runs will not be complete in the Chapel until Phase 2. At that time we’ll finish the interior walls and flooring and add the technology to make the Chapel a well-used, multi-purpose space. So what’s next? Phase 2 construction will be less costly than Phase 1, and includes completion of the Chapel, renovation of Fellowship Hall (current CDLC Preschool space) into a new Mission Outpost, and reorienting and renovating the Sanctuary. Timing will be dependent upon our ability to raise the needed funds, and the church calendar so that ministry continues as our renovation work is in process. The proposed Phase 3 construction included completion of the exterior landscaping, construction of a memorial garden/columbarium and repaving the parking lot. Because of the significant deterioration of our current main parking lot, we are looking at alternatives to have the repaving done yet this year or early spring, 2020. At that time all of the parking lot lights would also be replaced. This would coincide with the end of construction traffic on that lot. More information will be provided if we move the parking lot schedule ahead. Please pray for the continued safety of our construction teams. One Church Capital Campaign One Church campaign pledges have topped $7M, and more than 80% of pledges have already been received! Early completion of pledges has allowed us to use our cash on hand to pay for most of the project, and we’ve saved nearly $110,000 in projected interest to date. Thanks for your generosity! Live Video Tour Our Communications Director, Liz Ridpath, along with our Facilities Director (and tour guide), Kurt Oestreich, took everyone on a Facebook Live video tour of the new space on June 4.
