The mechanical and electrical systems will be replaced, and that demo work started. Demolition of the restrooms and the old classrooms began and should be completed by early February. The lower level of Fellowship Hall will be infilled to create a level surface, eliminating the need for steps and ramps to provide more usable space for the new Outpost. The new Mission Outpost will include a larger dental clinic, offices and meeting rooms, a larger grocery area, along with a warehouse addition on the west side of the Worship Center for receiving, storage, furniture ministry and walk-in refrigerator and freezer. The lower level will also be home to a new Child Care area, conveniently located between the new Mission Outpost and the gathering area outside of CDLC Preschool. This fun space will be safe and bright for children, with a combination of rooms and large play space. The Mission Outpost and Childcare areas are scheduled for completion mid-October, 2021. Work is also beginning in the Chapel. That area has been staged to relaunch construction. Mechanical and electrical work began and framing and drywall work will begin this week. The Chapel will be a multi-use space for Family Ministry, weddings, funerals, Engage Bible Study, and other events. The Chapel is scheduled for completion in mid-May, 2021.
