February Update: One Church Transformation

 In Featured, Land & Building

Significant progress has been made enclosing our new addition in spite of challenging winter weather conditions in January and February. Roof decking is complete and steel studs were installed in the new addition. Framing work for offices continues in the renovated area. Wall framing can begin in the new addition as soon as the exterior wallboard is up. Work continues on new mechanical and electrical systems and plumbing. Final decisions have been made on equipment and layout in a new commercial kitchen being built on the second floor and a small catering kitchen on the first floor.

We’ve lost about 2 weeks in our construction schedule with the bitter cold temperatures, ice and snow. There had been some leeway built into the schedule for winter construction, so our general contractor believes that we’ll remain on schedule for a Labor Day completion.

If you’ve watched construction during the week you’ve seen our subcontractors working in some pretty raw weather conditions, installing beams, steel studs and roof decking as the snow flies and temperatures hover at zero. (At one point, they had to snow blow up to 4 foot drifts off the roof of the new addition in order to keep working on the completion of the roof decking.) Please pray for the continued safety of our construction teams.
