February 2021 Update: One Church Transformation

 In Featured, Land & Building

Phase 2 of our One Church Transformation project began in mid-January with demolition work in the old Fellowship Hall area. All of the original preschool walls, kitchen, and old round bathrooms are gone, creating a large open space for a new Mission Outpost, Dental Clinic and Child Care area. The week of February 15, sand will be hauled in to create a level floor, eliminating the need for steps and ramps. We’ll be ready for the new concrete to be poured by the end of the month. Installation of new ductwork is in progress, as is the electrical and plumbing rough-in work.

The new Mission Outpost area will provide more dignified space to serve the increasing needs in our community, with closer connections to all ministries. Construction also includes creation of a 4500 square foot warehouse space for receiving, sorting and storage space, along with a loading dock. The childcare area will be large, bright space that is centrally located to serve all ministry areas. We anticipate a mid-October completion date for this area.

Work has also begun to complete the interior of the Chapel. Mechanical and electrical work has started along with some framing and drywall. We anticipate the framing, construction of a worship platform, and wall finishes to be complete in March. The new Chapel will provide more intimate space to celebrate a wedding or commemorate the life of a loved one, and provide multi-use space for Family Ministry, large group gatherings, and much more. The Chapel is on track for completion in mid-May.

Please pray for the continued safety of our construction teams and visit our Land & Building blog for ongoing construction updates. You won’t want to miss the transformation as the adventure continues!
