Although the completion of the project is almost a year away, we need to start thinking about what our vision is for the rest of the property. There are two opportunities to learn about options and have your voice heard: Congregational Forums We will be holding 5 identical congregational forums in November to give updates on the construction project, construction finances, and possible uses for our land and the Christian Life Center building. Do we sell or lease? Could active senior housing be in our future? We’ll also discuss the upcoming congregational vote on this topic (see below for more info). Forums are being held: Wednesday, November 7 – 6:45 pm – Room 200 Sunday, November 11 – 9:30 am – Fellowship Hall Sunday, November 11 – 10:45 am – Fellowship Hall Tuesday, November 13 – 7:30 am – Family Room Wednesday, November 14 – 1:00 pm – Family Room Congregational Vote We will be holding a congregational vote all worship services, beginning with WOW worship on November 14 and continuing with weekend worship on November 17-18. The Christian Life Center building sits on 11+ acres of land that may be split, sold, leased or developed in a number of ways. The Board of Directors is exploring highest value and best use of the Christian Life Center parcels and will be engaging third party professionals to help us assess opportunities for this property. The congregation is being asked to authorize the Board of Directors to market the property and negotiate the lease or sale. While the final disposition of the property is not imminent, the process needs to begin now. The Christian Life Center parcels (Parcel ID 02-64011-01-020 and Parcel ID 02-64011-01-030) include the Christian Life Center building and the parking lots to the east and west of the CLC building for a total of 11.12 acres of land. Members of Prince of Peace (18 years and older) are asked to vote YES or NO on the following motion: To authorize the Board of Directors to market the Christian Life Center parcels and negotiate the lease or sale of the property.
