Change

The other day I went to pick up a newspaper. I used my loose change to pay for the paper. The attendant that took the money was so grateful. He said, “I love all this change, I needed it!”

That got me thinking about change. Not the kind of change that you hand a cashier. But change that happens in our lives. 2020 has had more change than almost any other year. How do you respond to change? Some people love change and others, well, they loathe it!

Whether you are one who loves change or loathes it, here’s the thing, change is inevitable. The changes that have occurred since CoVid 19 have been numerous! It seems as if everything has changed; Wearing masks, staying 6 feet apart, working conditions, grocery shopping, eating out, movie theaters, shopping malls, worship, need I go on! And what about holidays this year? Normally I am part of large gathering with over 20 people. That won’t happen this year!

How do we deal with an ever-changing world? We go to the one who never changes. God. God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. God doesn’t change and neither does God’s promise to walk through each day, each change right by our side. God gave us Jesus to let us know that we are loved and that no matter what changes, God is with us.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20
