Campus Closure Update: July 2020 By Liz Ridpath Posted June 25, 2020 In Coronavirus Updates, Featured, News Campus Closure Update: July 20202020-06-252020-06-25https://popmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/pop-logo_horizontal_color-e1473696608865.pngPrince of Peace Lutheran Churchhttps://popmn.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/campus-closure-update_july-2020.jpg200px200px 0 It’s frustrating, isn’t it? We just began to enjoy our new facility when the COVID-19 pandemic forced us to close our doors. Ugh! But here’s the good news: the church never closed because the church isn’t a building. If anything, this pandemic has forced the church to open in new ways, moving worship and ministry into our homes, neighborhoods and beyond. Leave it to God to make something good out of something hard. Prince of Peace leadership has been listening carefully to the Holy Spirit, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, governmental agencies, our ELCA denomination and many of our sister congregations in order to make decisions about our campus that focus on our health and safety, as well as the health and safety of our neighbors. That listening has led us to the decision to keep our campus closed through the summer. Our staff will continue to work remotely as they are able and are available by phone or email. It is our hope that sometime in the Fall we will return to some form of “live” worship, but it will certainly be different than what we were experiencing at the start of this year. We realize that this decision will frustrate some. Please know that we don’t make this decision from fear or a lack of faith, but in obedience to Jesus’ command to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. We are grateful for your patience in these difficult days. In the meantime, please know that ministry continues and that our staff remains hard at work: Worship has not stopped but continues weekly online Family Ministry is producing wonderful online and at-home resources Mission Outpost continues to provide food for those in need Our staff continues to support you on your spiritual journey and can be reached via phone (952-435-8102 and leave a message) or by email Our generosity makes all of this and much more possible, so thanks for your faithfulness in giving as you are able Peace, Pastor Jeff Marian, Jane Victorey & the Board of Directors Liz Ridpath Recent PostsIntersection2020 Annual Congregational Meeting ResultsOne Thing: ObadiahWedding Leave a Comment Cancel reply Save my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
