The meeting resulted in 751 voting yes and 29 voting no. In addition to regular pastoral duties of preaching, teaching and pastoral care, the responsibilities of Jason’s position includes oversight of a discipleship process from cradle to grave, with continued oversight of the Family Ministry Team and also the Director of Community Life. Special emphasis will also be given to evangelism and stewardship as key components of life-long discipleship, all of which will be done in collaboration with Prince of Peace staff colleagues. A rite of ordination and installation in the presence of Jason’s family, pastoral staff and board members, will be held on August 30 with Saint Paul Area Synod Bishop Patricia Lull presiding. While these unique times currently prevent us from gathering in person to celebrate as a congregation, the service will be available to view online (details to come). We join our hearts and prayers as we celebrate in spirit with Jason as he accepts the call as an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, continuing to serve at Prince of Peace.
