Campus & Covid Update | April 2021

Staff and Board leadership at Prince of Peace are carefully monitoring both the rising infection and vaccination rates in our area. We are concerned about the spread of new variants that appear both more contagious and more dangerous. We are hopeful as increasing numbers of Minnesotans receive the vaccination. And we remain dedicated to the safety of our staff, members, guests, health care workers and broader community.

Current on-campus ministry is listed below. While we had hoped to open the campus to more groups when infection rates were declining, including small groups and various ministries, the current surge in both infection rates and hospitalizations has led us to hold where we are. We will continue to monitor things closely and will reevaluate as the situation changes.

Thanks for your patience and continued prayers for the safety of all.

The Prince of Peace campus is open in limited capacity as follows:

  • Student Ministry is meeting on campus on Wednesdays evenings and will also continue to offer online ministry for those who are not comfortable returning to campus.
  • On-campus Worship has resumed with identical services at 9:00 & 10:30 am. Safety precautions are outlined below.
  • Funeral and memorial services – please call the Church Office at 952-435-8102 and a staff member will be in touch to discuss available options and help make arrangements.
  • Mission Outpost has continued serving people in need throughout the pandemic and is back to offering full services – visit for details about making an appointment, donations and volunteering.
  • Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) support group is meeting each weekday in the Christian Life Center.
  • Staff offices will remain closed until further notice, but as has been true throughout the pandemic, we remain available by phone or email.

For those who don’t yet feel comfortable returning to campus, please know that we support your decision to stay home. We encourage everyone to make the choice that is safest for you and your household. Our online worship services will continue, and we invite you to join us there.

As circumstances of the pandemic change, so will the openness of our campus. This page will continue to be updated with the latest information regarding our reopening plans.

ONLINE WORSHIP: Online worship services will continue on Sundays at 9:45 am. Watch live or at your convenience throughout the week. Join us at, on, or at

SYMPTOM CHECK: Thank you for self-checking for any of the following symptoms before entering the building: Fever, difficulty breathing, loss of taste or smell, muscle pain, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, chills, cough, runny nose, sinus congestion, sore throat, headache, fatigue.

MASKS: Masks covering the mouth and nose are required at all times in the building for everyone age 6 and older. Masks are also encouraged for children ages 2-5. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided for you. If you won’t or can’t wear a mask, we ask you to join us for online worship.

PHYSICAL DISTANCING: Physical distancing of at least 6 feet must be maintained between household groups at all times. No handshaking, hugs, etc. Utilize air-fives, waves, and smile with your eyes! We will be limiting the number of people in smaller spaces such as the restrooms and elevators. Please respect one another’s health and safety.

IF YOU ARE FULLY VACCINATED: While fully vaccinated folks may gather indoors with others who are vaccinated without wearing a mask, for the health and safety of others, please wear a mask and maintain physical distance while on campus. More info here.

CHILD CARE: All children are welcome in worship, but we also offer child care for kids 5 and under during worship services. Child care is located in the lower level office wing, adjacent to the main welcome area. No reservations necessary.

HAND WASHING: For your convenience, touch-free hand sanitizer dispensers are set up throughout the building. Our restrooms are also equipped with touch-free sinks, soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers. Please use as necessary.

TRAFFIC FLOW: Please enter the building through Door 1, our main entrance. Other entrances and areas of the building will be closed. Follow the one-way traffic flow throughout the building to reduce exposure and maintain physical distancing.

FELLOWSHIP: No coffee or treats will be provided. Our fellowship areas and soft seating will be off limits for the time being. The coat hooks have also been removed so please keep your belongings with you at all times.

SEATING: In the Sanctuary, chairs will be spaced out in small groupings. Ushers will seat you in groups of chairs according to your household size. Please remain seated with your mask on to reduce exposure. Ushers will dismiss each row to ensure distancing as you leave.

WORSHIP ELEMENTS: The worship team will sing from a safe distance. We invite the congregation to sing and engage with prayers and other elements in worship, but please leave your mask on at all times. Communion will be offered the first Sunday of each month, in a modified fashion.

CLEANING: Please exit the building promptly after worship so cleaning can begin for the next service. Our facilities team is hard at work cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing the building regularly. High-touch surfaces such as hand rails and door handles will be thoroughly cleaned before and after each service.

GIVING: Online giving is our most convenient way to give. There are several ways to give online, including automatic giving, text giving or by giving through PayPal – more information can be found at You may also mail your offering to the church office at 13801 Fairview Dr. Burnsville, MN 55337. Finally, we will not be passing offering baskets, but your offering can be dropped in the offering boxes in the back of the Sanctuary as you exit after the service.

BAPTISMS: Baptisms will take place at the 10:30 am worship service. While we commonly baptize children at Prince of Peace, adults who have not been baptized and who wish to explore a life of faith and a relationship with Jesus Christ are also encouraged to be baptized. To schedule a baptism, please contact Julie Klein via email or 952-898-9308.

GROUPS: As circumstances change, so will the openness of our campus. If growing vaccination rates continually lower infection rates, we will slowly begin to open the campus to more ministries and groups. If infection rates rise dramatically because of the new variants, we may need to limit ministries or even close the campus again. Let’s continue to pray that things move in a positive direction. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
