Whether you are a guest or have been a disciple of Prince of Peace for years, we warmly welcome you to come together for the Christmas season to worship and celebrate the birth of God’s gift to us all, Emmanuel, Christ with us – the ultimate gift of love that God hopes we will experience throughout this season.
Gifts come in all shapes and sizes and our Gift Tree is a reflection of what that may look like around the world. This year we will be focusing our giving by partnering with Armful of Love, Ebenezer, Tanzania scholarships, and Feed My Starving Children.
We invite you to take a tag from our Gift Trees beginning November 18-19 and be the reason for a smile this Christmas. Come let your abundance be a blessing to others throughout the community, the world. Follow the instructions on the tag and return gifts no later than Sunday, December 3 at noon.
Volunteers are needed during the following times:
Thursday, November 16 | 4:00 pm | Sanctuary | Set Up Trees and Tags
Sunday, December 3 | Noon – 3:00 pm | Sanctuary | Gift Sorting Party | Contact: Tina at email@example.com
For more information contact Linda Olson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 952-898-9307.
Order poinsettias in honor or memory of a loved one to beautify the altar area during the Christmas season. The cost is $20 for a large red 8” double poinsettia. Order envelopes are available at the Welcome Desk and tables in the Sanctuary or place an order online below. The deadline to order is Sunday, December 3.
For centuries, the church used Advent as a time of anticipation, time to reflect and ponder the coming of the Christ-child. Beyond a time of contemplation and preparation we want to also use this as a time of invitation…inviting you to step in to this season and participate each week in meaningful worship. Each week we will consider a different invitation:
November 25-26 – Invitation to Promise
December 2-3 – Invitation to Restoration
December 9-10 – Invitation to Hope
December 16-17 – Invitation to Christ
Let me also encourage you to reach out to those who are disconnected from the church or struggling with issues of faith and invite them to journey with us through this season. Our prayer is that Advent will not only prepare us Christmas, but will also allow us to set aside time to breathe deeply, slow down, and consider the Promise, the Restoration, our Hope, and the precious gift of Jesus Christ.
Families and individuals are invited to light the Advent candles at any of our worship services: November 26-27, December 3-4, December 10-11, December 17-18, December 24-25
