…A Great Opportunity to “Taste-Test” Volunteering at Prince of Peace!

You know all the reasons why you should volunteer more often—it benefits others, just plain feels good, and helps you bank good karma—but if those aren’t giving you the motivation you need, try these: Studies have found that volunteering just one day a month will give your life a greater sense of purpose and will make you feel more connected to your community.

Think you’re too busy? It’s not about how much time you give, it’s about forming an identity as a volunteer. That means you have to give back regularly enough to consider the activity part of who you are. In the study, that required just 3-4 hours of volunteering each month, but it could take even less for you.

OK, you’re convinced. But where to start? Here are a few volunteer options in June at Prince of Peace to match your personality:

You are a social butterfly: Be an usher or greeter one Saturday evening a month this summer and use your outgoing personality to offer a warm welcome to our members and guests.

You are considered a go-getter: Mission Outpost (food shelf and clothing closet) has many shifts available that require a variety of skills…but most importantly…the ability to get things done! Is that you?

To schedule your volunteer “taste-test” contact Travis Martinson, Volunteer Development Manager, at 952-898-9393 or tmartinson@popmn.org.
