South Metro Faith Communities Caring for Creation

God had to be rejoicing to see Prince of Peace and eight other south metro faith communities come together to listen and take action on caring for creation.  More than 200 concerned church members from these same communities met at the “Climate Care: Taking Next Steps” event Sunday, January 31st at St. Thomas Becket Church, Eagan. Yes, Prince of Peace was well represented. The event was sponsored by InterFaith Creation Care South Metro representing Creation Care small groups from these communities including Prince of Peace in the spirit of “Called to Connect”. Author and meteorologist Paul Douglas shared his presentation on Caring for Creation and teen representatives from the Youth Be the Spark program of Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light then spoke on their concerns for the future of our planet. Break-out sessions followed discussing what steps we can do to help preserve God’s creation. Attendees left this event energized to make changes in their own lives and to encourage others to do the same.
