Grade 6‐12

Student Ministry is where youth grades 6-12 grow in their faith by serving God, worshiping together, and forming lasting relationships.

THIS WEEK AT A GLANCE

Bottom Line:  God uses us to do great things.

In week two of our series Another Christmas Story, we meet Zechariah and his wife Elizabeth. This couple, similar to Abraham and his wife Sarah, are parents to a son who would announce a brand new work of God in the world. In this case, their son, John the Baptist, would announce that Jesus was coming into the world. We are not too dissimilar from Zechariah and Elizabeth in that we are people who are waiting for God to do a new thing in our midst. This week we’ll discover what we can learn for our time as they wrestle with the news that God is going to use them in a special way.

Things to Know This Week:

  • Worship Notes

This week we will worship in the round. Make sure you find a spot with enough room for your small group. We will also celebrate communion this week. Make sure that your kids only go to the front when the ushers release them.

  • Wear Your PJ’s!

We’re going to get comfortable for StuMin this month. So, wear your PJ’s and bring a pillow and a blanket each week as we take time to dig into the Christmas story together.

  • You Version Bible App

Encourage your students to download this Bible app. We will rely on this application heavily during the months of December and January. If students do not have this app, then they can bring their regular Bibles.

  • Sunday StuMin

Session 3 Sunday, December 10 at 11:00a.m. |Does your middle school student have a hard time attending on Wednesday nights? Do they want a community to connect to on Sundays? Join us for games, music, and a devo in Room 200 for Sunday StuMin. If you lead middle school students who are unable to attend on Wednesdays, be sure to encourage them to check this out

  • Feed My Starving Children (FMSC)

The South Metro Mobile Pack will be hosted at Prince of Peace the week of January 28. There will be a SIGNIFICANT need for volunteers. Begin having a conversation you’re your students about volunteering. Look for volunteer registration materials this in the next couple of weeks at StuMin and on the website.

Text Giving Is Here!

You can now make a contribution to Prince of Peace with a quick text message!

Text giving is a quick and easy way to give an offering for those of us who don’t carry cash or checkbooks – and you can include the kiddos, too! It’s also a great way for students to begin practicing personal stewardship.

You can find more information including step-by-step directions here.

If you have questions about registration or your small group details, check with Dawn Ridgway at dridgway@popmn.org.
