Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) Twin Cities has supported parents, friends, family and allies of lesbian, gay, transgender and bisexual persons since 1973.
- Parents & Family: You are not alone. PFLAG can help you understand your loved one’s sexuality or gender idendity. Our chapter members come from many walks of life and share similar feelings and experiences. PFLAG is a place of love and acceptance.
- Friends & Allies: We offer support to families and friends who are going through their own coming out process when they learn that a loved one is gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender.
- GLBTQ: PFLAG is family! We welcome all gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and questioning people to be a part of our family because we understand and can offer unconditional support. We provide a safe space to figure out how to “come out” to your loved ones, to support your loved one, and to be supported if your biological family will not accept you. GLBT people are always welcome at our table.
- Straight Spouse: It can be devastating when your spouse comes out or discloses being gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. When this happens, the straight spouse and children often go into their own closet. You need to know, you’re not alone. Straight spouse support is available. Following our regular monthly program, we have a separate room and a group facilitator who has relevant experience to share stories and solutions with straight spouses and their families.
