December Called to Connect Weekend Recap
This past weekend on December 3-4 we celebrated another great Called to Connect weekend. There was so much excitement as our Children’s Choir presented a great message on humility. They shared that Jesus is the star in our lives and we must constantly keep our egos in check so we can continually lift up Jesus Christ, the newborn King. With around 90 kids on the platform, our services were full of families and friends there to support the children and to worship together.
The Community Room was packed following each of our services as we gathered in community for fellowship, to eat Christmas cookies and purchase some goodies from the Bake Sale, or learn more about other ministries at Prince of Peace. Called to Connect weekends are a great time to meet new folks or reconnect with people you’ve not seen for a while.
We also heard some exciting news about Love Your Neighbor (LYN) senior companion ministry. Our Spiritual Care team is working now to train volunteers who want to serve the needs of seniors. They also are looking for seniors who live alone and need a little extra help with some basic services, like a ride to the doctor or store, or maybe to come over and play a game and drink some coffee. If you know a senior who could benefit from this ministry, please contact Pastor Sandy Rothschiller (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Kari Snyder (email@example.com).
Our next Called to Connect weekend is February 4-5. Please put this on your calendar and make plans to be a part of worship.
