Life Events | Baptism, Marriage, Funerals

Faith is not just about spending one hour in worship or saying a prayer at dinner or giving money to a homeless person. All those things are great but God is calling us to something more. God is calling us to invest our whole lives: from our first breath to our last…in loving God and loving other people.

Baptism
Through the sacrament of baptism we are made new, forgiven, adopted into God’s family, and loved for life and beyond. Parents who would like their child baptized should attend our Baptism Preparation Class. Adults who desire to be baptized may meet with a member of our pastoral staff. Visit popmn.org/baptism.

Keeping The Promise
Prince of Peace has dedicated one day each year in the life of your child to celebrate baptism. Keeping the Promise (KTP) events, including First Communion and Confirmation, are designed to remind us of the important promises you made during your child’s baptism. Visit popmn.org/ktp.

Marriage
All people, regardless of sexual orientation, are invited to participate fully in the life of this faith community—including marriage. Christian marriage begins with a wedding ceremony where Christ is at the center. We’ll help you to plan a ceremony that is consistent with the Christian understanding of marriage. The Pastoral Staff at Prince of Peace expects all couples to participate in some marriage preparation as they anticipate a wedding to begin your married relationship with as many tools as you can gather for a lifetime of growth together. This is one of the most important investments you can make as you prepare for a wedding and a marriage. Prince of Peace uses the SYMBIS Assessment tool as a part of our marriage preparation. Visit popmn.org/marriage.

Funerals
The Prince of Peace community will help you plan and implement a Christian funeral or memorial service to honor the memory of your loved one and celebrate the hope of the resurrection. We’ll walk with you in this journey of grief. Call the church office at 952-435-8102 to schedule a funeral. On-call ministers are available around the clock. Visit popmn.org/funerals.

We invite you to join us in prayer and in action as we answer God’s call to love one another and become bridge builders on the journey to reconciliation. Visit popmn.org/justice.
